A stacker system is classified as a mechanical parking lift. Meaning a trained employee or owner should be onsite to operate the system.
Vehicles are elevated from 2 to 4 levels. In order to retrieve a vehicle on the second level the car on the first level must be removed first. If removing a vehicle from level 3 then cars on platform 2 and 1 have to be removed first. This holds true for level 4 as well.
Due to the fact that other vehicles have to be removed prior to retrieving or parking a car this type of system is not recommended for public use. This system is mainly used by parking valets.
This type of system is also known as a Cantilever Lift or 2 Post Lift.
